Eligibility

Bastuhus is for guests 18 years and older. You must be at least 18 to book, enter the facility or use our services. We may ask to see valid photo ID.

Health, safety and assumption of risk

Contrast therapy (alternating heat and cold) is a wellness practice, not medical treatment, and we do not offer medical advice. It places real demands on your body. Risks include cardiovascular strain, changes in blood pressure, dizziness, fainting, dehydration, burns or cold injury, and slips on wet surfaces.

By booking or entering, you confirm that you are in good health or have consulted a doctor. If you are pregnant or have a heart or blood pressure condition, speak to your doctor before you visit. Leave the heat or cold whenever you feel unwell, and follow the directions of our staff.

Waiver and release of liability

Assumption of risk. You understand the risks described above and voluntarily choose to take part, at your own risk.

Release. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Bastuhus Sauna House, its owners, directors, employees, contractors, instructors and landlords from all claims, losses and liabilities arising from your use of the facility or participation in any session, including those caused by ordinary negligence.

Indemnification. You agree to compensate Bastuhus for any claim, loss or cost arising from your breach of these terms or from injury or damage you cause to another person or to the facility.

Medical fitness. You confirm that you have no medical condition that would make heat, cold or physical activity unsafe for you, or that you have received your doctor’s approval to participate.

You have read this waiver, understand it, and agree to it by booking, entering the facility or creating an account.

Bookings, payments and cancellations

Bookings and payments are processed through Mariana Tek / Xplor Technologies, our payment processor. Prices and taxes are shown at checkout.

• Memberships are billed on a recurring basis until cancelled. We do not refund partial periods that were cancelled. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 15 days before your renewal date.
• Single sessions can be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice. With less notice, you may be charged 50% of the session price.
• Single sessions do not expire.

Facility rules

• Do not photograph or film other guests without their consent. Guests are in swimwear.
• No alcohol before or during your visit.
• Bare feet are welcome.
• Please respect other guests and follow staff directions.
• Keep your voice low in the sauna and the lounge.
• Shower before using the sauna and before using the cold plunge.
• Make room on the benches for other guests.
• Bastuhus is not responsible for lost or stolen property.

Text message program

Program Description
By opting in, you agree to receive recurring automated text messages from Bastuhus Sauna House ("we," "us," "our") at the mobile number you provided. Messages may include appointment reminders, booking confirmations, account alerts, and promotional offers. Consent to receive these messages is not a condition of any purchase.

Message Frequency
You may receive up to 4 messages per month. Message frequency may vary depending on your activity and interactions with us.

Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Charges are billed by and payable to your mobile service provider. Please contact your wireless carrier for details about your messaging plan.

How to Opt Out and Get Help
You can unsubscribe from the SMS service at any time by replying STOP to any message we send you. After you send STOP, you will receive a one-time confirmation message, and no further messages will be sent. If you want to rejoin, you can sign up again using the original opt-in method or reply START. For help or more information at any time, reply HELP to any of our messages. You can also contact our support team directly at hello@bastuhus.ca.

Carrier Liability Disclaimer
Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.

Dispute resolution

If you have a concern, please contact us first at hello@bastuhus.ca and we will try to resolve it informally. If that does not work, both sides agree to try mediation before starting any court proceeding. Any court proceeding will be brought in the courts of Ontario.

General provisions

• Severability. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
• Entire agreement. These terms are the whole agreement between you and Bastuhus about your use of the facility and website.
• Force majeure. We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
• No waiver. If we do not enforce a term, that does not mean we give it up.
• Changes. We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
